Have you ever noticed the labs features of your Gmail account. You can have some interesting as well as useful experimental features of Gmail from the Labs in Gmail Settings.
Some of the features the Labs provide are :
• Undo Send – Have you hit Send without intending, then you can stop message from being sent for a few seconds after hitting the send button.
• Preview Pane – Provides a preview pane to read mail right next to your list of conversation, making mail reading faster and adding more context.
• Unread message icon – See how many unread message are in your inbox with a quick glance at the tab’s icon.
• Custom Keyboard shortcuts – Lets you customize keyboard shortcut mapping. Adds a new settings tab from which you can remap keys to various action.
There are much more features the Labs provides.
Enable Labs
1. Open Gmail.
2. Move to settings.
3. Open the Labs tab.
4. Identify the labs you want to turn on and click the Enable radio button.
5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Problems with Labs
If you encounter any problems while you have a Labs feature enabled, here are some things you can do:
• Temporarily disable Labs
Go to http://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0 to temporarily disable Labs and get you account back to normal.
• Disable Labs individually
If you'd like to help pinpoint the problem, you can disable each feature until the problem goes away.
1. Open Gmail.
2. Move to settings.
3. Open the Labs tab.
4. Select the Disable radio button by the features you’ve enabled.
5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
