Best 5 smartphones in India under 15000, October 2014

          The budget smartphones have everything that a user desires and a premium phone offers at a friendly prices.  Planning to buy a new mid-range budget smartphone under 15,000 in this October, here are the top 5 budget smartphones for the month...

1. HTC Desire 616 - Rs. 14,999

         HTC Desire 616 Dual SIM's 5-inch screen has a resolution of 720x1280 which translates to a pixel density of 294ppi comes with the octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali-450MP4 graphics. Supplementing it is 1GB of RAM, and there is 4GB of internal storage space with the option of adding up to 32GB more using microSD cards. The 32GB limit is a bit of a downer since even cheaper phones support higher capacities.




         
  The phone has a Dual-SIM setup - one regular (Mini) SIM and the other Micro-SIM. The primary SIM card (regular) can connect to 3G networks while the secondary (Micro) cannot. The phone can connect to Wi-Fi a/b/g/n networks. It also has an 8-megapixel primary camera which can shoot 1080p videos. The 2-megapixel front camera can shoot 720p videos. HTC has added FM radio as an option for entertainment.

2. Moto G (2nd Gen) - Rs. 12,999

          The Moto G 2nd Gen model is significantly taller and wider, but is also a hair thinner and heavier. The new dimensions accommodate a larger screen - 5 inches as opposed to 4.5. The processor is still the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, with four cores running at 1.2GHz and an integrated Adreno 305 GPU. There's still 1GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB of storage space. 


The Moto G (Gen 2)'s cameras get a bump up from a 5-megapixel sensor to an 8-megapixel one on the rear and from 1.3 to 2 megapixels on the front. Video recording resolution is still capped at 720p and all the software features are the same.

3. Lenovo P780 - Rs. 14,400

        The Lenovo P780 dual SIM smartphone that sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels (294ppi) and 16 million colour gamut. The Lenovo P780 is powered by the quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 processor with 1GB of RAM, and the PowerVR SGX544MP GPU. There is 4GB of built-in storage, 2.1GB of which is available to the user.


  The real strength of the phone, however, is its 4,000 mAh battery, which lasts nearly two full days.

4. BlackBerry Z10 - Rs. 14,000

         BlackBerry Z10 comes with a 4.2-inch 1280x768 display (355 ppi) with the BlackBerry 10 OS offering upgradation. The BlackBerry Z10 is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor alongside 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera capable of recording full-HD video. The overall image quality is pretty decent. The rear camera is capable of capturing full-HD video, and again, the output is pretty good without being the best around. You can record either 720p or 1080p video, though you can't click a picture while shooting a video.


The 2-megapixel front camera also offers 720p video capture that comes in pretty hand with video over BBM.

5. XOLO Play 8X-1100 - Rs. 14,560

           The Play 8X-1100 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. Xolo's Play 8X-1100 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core (unspecified) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 700MHz Mali 450 GPU.


The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Xolo Play 8X-1100 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera powered by Sony Exmor RS sensor and coupled with LED flash, while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI Sensor and 88-degree wide view angle also onboard.
